Google StreetView is a pretty sweet feature that lets you swoop down on a map for a street-level view, and it's come to GTA IV's Liberty City. Some big fans over at gta4.net have stitched together approximately 80,000 screenshots to make this possible, and it's close to covering every nook and cranny of the giant city.
"There's around 3,000 separate panoramas which were stitched together from almost 80,000 in-game screenshots (captured with a script) and the final set of tiles consist of over a million images," says Adam from the site. Impressive work from a dedicated group of fans. Even more impressive is the fact that the Google StreetView vehicle didn't get carjacked on those dangerous streets.
I met a guy once who had imported a lime green one bundled with New Super Mario Bros. in a bunch of different languages.
