If you read our six page preview on Final Fantasy XIII-2, you already know the important details regarding Square-Enix’s next big RPG. However, a few smaller facts have surfaced such as how far the game is in development, along with a big name change for the battle system.
In the Japanese version of Final Fantasy XIII the battle system which allows you to switch jobs on the fly is called the Optima Change system. According to Jump magazine, the name is being changed to align with the American version: the Paradigm Shift system.
The last little morsel of info is a nice one: the game is 70% complete. That means we can probably believe Square-Enix’s word that FF XIII-2 will hit U.S. store shelves in January 2012.
