Pachter: Wii U Is "Two Years Too Late," Has Dumbest Name Ever Apparently

Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter said in his investors note that this year's E3 was impressive, but he seems to be torn on the Wii U.
Pachter said that overall hardware at the show was impressive (he called the Wii U the most "impactful reveal" at the show), but thinks the system is "two years too late." He also believes that its pricing will be the key. "Depending on pricing, the system will be either a phenomenal success or a phenomenal failure," he said. Regardless, he's not a fan of the Wii U or PlayStation Vita's names, calling Vita "the second-dumbest name for a device after Wii U."
Regardless of his disdain for the Vita's name, Pachter think the device should do well early next year, after the 3DS has a good holiday season.
As for Microsoft, Pachter didn't shy away from the hyperbole, calling the company's integration of the Bing search engine into Kinect "perhaps the most impactful annouccement of the show" due to the possibilities to expand Microsoft's influence in the delivery of what he calls "over-the-top TV services" like Netflix streaming.
